Your business, is a company "Pet-Friendly" ?. If your answer is yes, I know that I'm talking about, but in the case of NO, do not stop reading this article.


A few days ago watching the show "The Dog Whisperer" Cesar Millan, he collaborated with workers of a company that had dogs and brought with them to work. The mere fact of going with your dog at your workplace I found shocking and funny once. I myself am a great lover of animals, and in my life have always been dogs and cats as pets and my dearest "friends".

I've always felt that the time I spend with my dear "friends" are very important in my life because they provide me a great source of pleasure and sincere affection. Surely there are people who understand me and others that do not understand. But still, we will try to offer all these skeptics what a pet can benefit, not only personally but also labor.

In Spain this practice to go with your dog to the office goes out of the ordinary, whereas if we move to the United States will see that this practice is fully seated and even have a day specifically designated for that practice. That day is June 24 and this initiative has the name "Take you dog to work today."

Google, Amazon, Ben & Jerrys, Etsy, Procter & Gamble or the very Congress in Washington are some of the companies and agencies that allow, promote and carry out this initiative.

In Spain, the company has been Affinitty, leader in food for dogs and cats, located in Barcelona; who have also joined this initiative. But it is not the only one. If we dig a little to find sites that promote and advertise to those companies that are participants in this initiative.

But what are the benefits to bring our dog with us at our workplace?

Some of these benefits include:

Improving the working environment
Decreased anxiety and stress
Promoting creativity
Improving physical health, as it helps regulate blood pressure to stroke them.
Increased labor productivity
Increased job satisfaction
Improving social and communication skills
Improvement in the expression and regulation of emotions
Increased release of oxytocin, known as the hormone of love or union; and to help reduce the excessive production of stress hormones, cortisol and insulin.
Those companies that welcome dogs to their facilities must follow a series of recommendations:

Designing free zones animals to also accommodate those who do not share in the company this initiative, and so do not feel offended or upset or.
Be careful with hygiene our doggy friends
Make sure the dog is at ease and enjoy their stay in the office. Some animals may not feel comfortable in these situations.
Bring toys or other objects to allow dogs to be entertained.
And of course, the owners must agree to take them for a walk.

Tu empresa, ¿es una empresa “Pet-Friendly”?. Si tu respuesta es  SÍ, ya sabrás de que te estoy hablando, pero en el caso de NO, no dejes de leer este artículo.

Hace unos días viendo el programa “El encantador de perros” de César Millan, colaboraba con los trabajadores de una empresa que tenían perros y los llevaban consigo al trabajo. El mero hecho de acudir con tu perro a tu lugar de trabajo me resultó chocante y a la vez curioso. Yo misma soy una gran amante de los animales, y en mi vida siempre han estado presentes los perros y gatos como mis más queridas mascotas y “amigos”.

Siempre he sentido que el tiempo que paso con mis queridos “amigos” son muy importantes en mi vida, ya que me proporcionan una gran fuente de placer y cariño sincero. Seguramente, haya personas que me comprendan y otras que no lo entiendan.  Pero, aun así, vamos a intentar ofrecer a todos estos escépticos lo que una mascota puede beneficiarnos, no solo a nivel personal sino también laboral.

En España esta práctica de acudir con tu perro a la oficina se sale fuera de lo común, mientras que si nos desplazamos a Estados Unidos veremos que esta práctica se encuentra totalmente asentada e incluso tienen un dia designado específicamente para esa práctica. Ese día es el  24 de junio y esta iniciativa tiene el nombre de “Take you dog to work today”.   

Google, Amazon,  Ben & Jerrys, Etsy, Procter & Gamble o el mismísimo Congreso de Washington son algunos de las empresas y organismos que permiten, promueven y llevan a cabo esta iniciativa.

En España, ha sido la empresa Affinitty,  compañía líder en alimentación para perros y gatos, ubicada en Barcelona; quienes también se han sumado a esta iniciativa. Pero tampoco es la única. Si nos ponemos a indagar un poco encontramos webs que promueven y publicitan a aquellas empresas que son partícipes de esta iniciativa.

Pero, ¿cuáles son los beneficios de llevar a nuestro perro con nosotros a nuestro lugar de trabajo?

Algunos de estos beneficios son:

• Mejora del clima laboral
• Disminución de la ansiedad y el estrés
• Fomento de la creatividad
• Mejora de la salud física, dado que ayuda a regular la tensión arterial al acariciarlos.
• Aumento de la productividad laboral
• Aumento del grado de satisfacción laboral
• Mejora de las habilidades sociales y comunicativas
• Mejora en la expresión y regulación de las emociones
• Aumento en la liberación de oxitocina, llamada la hormona del amor o de la unión; y que ayuda a reducir la producción excesiva de las hormonas del estrés, cortisol e insulina.

Aquellas empresas que dan la bienvenida a los perros a sus instalaciones deben seguir una serie de recomendaciones:

• Diseñar zonas libres de animales, para dar también cabida a aquellas personas que no comparten dentro de la empresa esta iniciativa, y así no se sientan ni ofendidos ni molestos.
• Ser cuidadosos con la higiene de nuestro amigos perrunos
• Asegurarse de que el perro está a gusto y disfruta de su estancia en la oficina. Algunos animales pueden no sentirse cómodos en estas situaciones.
• Llevar juguetes u otros objetos para que los perros puedan estar entretenidos.
• Y por supuesto, los dueños deben comprometerse a sacarlos a pasear.

Perhaps some of you will ask what do I do, talking about all these things in a newspaper HR.

Well, I think, is that absolutely everything of what I speak, whether you think it is the personal level or is covered by the professional, it is attached, are one. What happens to us affects us at home at work and vice versa.

Today I want to talk about pending talks, those that are leaving because they will require a great emotional and intellectual effort, we are playing something important; and we know that they have only two options:

Everything goes well, and that the relationship, of whatever type, leave more strengthened.

Everything is left worse than it is.

I add this because it may be that, especially at a party, just give absolutely everything and nothing happens, for better or for worse.

 

That is, they contain some risk, and that not everyone is willing to take.

 

Once I broke happened to me (assuming full responsibility as mine, I do not think so) a relationship (maybe a little rotten, insurance) that lasted more than 30 years; with several people at a time and in a very special moment in my life. Worst of all? You know how the relationship with all those people broke a few years before had been my family? By whatsapp. Of this I talk another day.

 

Pending talks, I do not care with a colleague, a friend, ex-partner, ex friend, boss or whatever, if allowed, they are like a small ball of snow when it reaches the base of the mountain, there who skip.

CONVERSACIONES PENDIENTES

Quizás alguno de vosotros se pregunte que qué hago yo, hablando de todas estas cosas en un periódico de rrhh.  

Pues bien, lo que yo creo, es que todo, absolutamente todo de lo que os hablo, tanto si pensáis que es del plano personal o que pertenece al ámbito del profesional, va unido, somos uno. Lo     que nos pasa en casa nos afecta en el trabajo y a la inversa.

Hoy quiero hablar de conversaciones pendientes, esas que se van dejando porque van a requerir de un gran esfuerzo emocional e intelectual, nos estamos jugando algo importante; y sabemos que tienen sólo dos opciones:

1. Que todo salga bien, y que la relación, del tipo que sea, salga más fortalecida.
2. Que todo se quede peor todavía de lo que está.
3. Añado esta porque también puede ser que, sobre todo a una de las partes, le dé absolutamente igual todo y no pase nada, ni para bien ni para mal.

Es decir, contienen cierto riesgo, y eso no todos estamos dispuestos a asumir.

Una vez me pasó que rompí (asumiendo como mía toda la responsabilidad, que no creo que sea así) una relación (tal vez un poco podrida, seguro) que duraba ya más de 30 años; con varias personas a la vez y en un momento muy especial de mi vida. ¿Lo peor de todo? ¿Sabéis cómo se rompió la relación con todas esas personas que unos años antes habían sido mi familia? Por whatsapp. De esto hablaré otro día.

Las conversaciones pendientes, me da igual con un colega, con un amigo, ex pareja, ex amigo, jefe o lo que sea, si se dejan, son como una pequeña bolita de nieve que cuando llega a la base de la montaña, no hay quien la salte.

Es una pena, porque lo que en un principio causa(sobre todo a una parte más que a la otra, diría yo) un malestar profundo, una gran tristeza, se va reduciendo, hasta que con el paso de los años el dolor es menos y menos, y todo se queda como un recuerdo. Tiene una parte buena, el rencor, la culpa, se van también. Al fin y al cabo, es un duelo, tal cual.

Creo que de las dos partes, uno se siente más ganador que otro, como con toda la razón, y el otro un poco más cauto tal vez, a la espera de ver si por una vez, el fuerte, Goliat, le cede la mano a David en son de paz. Generalmente, ambos se sienten con razón, por eso, ninguno es capaz, (bueno, todos lo somoso, ¿queremos?), de hacer algo por romper ese gran muro que nos irá separando cada vez más y más.

Tal vez te pasara algo que no esperabas, o te prometieron algo que no cumplieron, o tú te creaste unas expectativas sobre algo que no llegó,  no sé. La cuestión es que te plantees si merece (te merece) la pena, nunca mejor dicho, esa ruptura, ese mal rollo, ese mal estar, piensa en qué te aporta. Evidentemente, si tú te sientes bien, si consideras que todo lo has dicho, ok, puedes no hacer nada. Lo importante es cómo te sientas tú.

Por otro lado, si te sientes mal, si echas de menos, si te gustaría que la historia tuviera otro final, te pregunto: “¿Qué puedes hacer para intentar solucionarlo?”, “¿Qué es lo mejor que puede pasar?”, “¿Y lo peor?”

I know a lot of people are going to tell me there is no such thing as a free ride when it comes to advertisements and publicity. I say, that you over all marketing plan should use and include as many free publicity ideas as it can. Part of this plan should include getting newspaper, website, television and radio publicity.

The thing is, free publicity is much better than any form of paid advertising for three reason.

#1 What someone else has to say about you and your business is much better than what you say about your business, product of service. People believe what others tell them. When you say it, people will tend to doubt it more. We call this Credibility

Now on to reason #2 When someone writes something about you or it airs on tv or the radio, people feel impressed because you are someone they consider important. this is a feeling you should strive to maintain. We call this Prestige. Number three is a great one…

#3 It’s FREE! A if you analyze this one closly you will see it is cost effective but that goes way beyond the fact that it does not cost you a small truckload of money.

Let me give you an example, to place an advertisement which is a full page in your local paper it would cost you into the thousands of dollars. Now if the article or ad was to appear in a national newspaper it would cost you tens of thousands of dollars. My point here is simple, even with radio comercials which run in sixty second spots, they cost from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. My point about free ads is simple, you are generating powerful advertisements that is reaching your target market and you are not paying a huge about of money for that. You could not profitably pay for ads of this nature and keep your business in check without going into debt or cutting costs.

Free publicity is king and when you can get it you should take it. A great way to get some is to do community work, do a food drive for the local pantry or charity and get it to all the media. This is a great way to get free publicity. Okay, there you go. Take Some action today!
