Your business, is a company "Pet-Friendly" ?. If your answer is yes, I know that I'm talking about, but in the case of NO, do not stop reading this article.
A few days ago watching the show "The Dog Whisperer" Cesar Millan, he collaborated with workers of a company that had dogs and brought with them to work. The mere fact of going with your dog at your workplace I found shocking and funny once. I myself am a great lover of animals, and in my life have always been dogs and cats as pets and my dearest "friends".
I've always felt that the time I spend with my dear "friends" are very important in my life because they provide me a great source of pleasure and sincere affection. Surely there are people who understand me and others that do not understand. But still, we will try to offer all these skeptics what a pet can benefit, not only personally but also labor.
In Spain this practice to go with your dog to the office goes out of the ordinary, whereas if we move to the United States will see that this practice is fully seated and even have a day specifically designated for that practice. That day is June 24 and this initiative has the name "Take you dog to work today."
Google, Amazon, Ben & Jerrys, Etsy, Procter & Gamble or the very Congress in Washington are some of the companies and agencies that allow, promote and carry out this initiative.
In Spain, the company has been Affinitty, leader in food for dogs and cats, located in Barcelona; who have also joined this initiative. But it is not the only one. If we dig a little to find sites that promote and advertise to those companies that are participants in this initiative.
But what are the benefits to bring our dog with us at our workplace?
Some of these benefits include:

Decreased anxiety and stress
Promoting creativity
Improving physical health, as it helps regulate blood pressure to stroke them.
Increased labor productivity
Increased job satisfaction
Improving social and communication skills
Improvement in the expression and regulation of emotions
Increased release of oxytocin, known as the hormone of love or union; and to help reduce the excessive production of stress hormones, cortisol and insulin.
Those companies that welcome dogs to their facilities must follow a series of recommendations:
Designing free zones animals to also accommodate those who do not share in the company this initiative, and so do not feel offended or upset or.

Make sure the dog is at ease and enjoy their stay in the office. Some animals may not feel comfortable in these situations.

Tu empresa, ¿es una empresa “Pet-Friendly”?. Si tu respuesta es SÍ, ya sabrás de que te estoy hablando, pero en el caso de NO, no dejes de leer este artículo.
Hace unos días viendo el programa “El encantador de perros” de César Millan, colaboraba con los trabajadores de una empresa que tenían perros y los llevaban consigo al trabajo. El mero hecho de acudir con tu perro a tu lugar de trabajo me resultó chocante y a la vez curioso. Yo misma soy una gran amante de los animales, y en mi vida siempre han estado presentes los perros y gatos como mis más queridas mascotas y “amigos”.
Siempre he sentido que el tiempo que paso con mis queridos “amigos” son muy importantes en mi vida, ya que me proporcionan una gran fuente de placer y cariño sincero. Seguramente, haya personas que me comprendan y otras que no lo entiendan. Pero, aun así, vamos a intentar ofrecer a todos estos escépticos lo que una mascota puede beneficiarnos, no solo a nivel personal sino también laboral.
En España esta práctica de acudir con tu perro a la oficina se sale fuera de lo común, mientras que si nos desplazamos a Estados Unidos veremos que esta práctica se encuentra totalmente asentada e incluso tienen un dia designado específicamente para esa práctica. Ese día es el 24 de junio y esta iniciativa tiene el nombre de “Take you dog to work today”.
Google, Amazon, Ben & Jerrys, Etsy, Procter & Gamble o el mismísimo Congreso de Washington son algunos de las empresas y organismos que permiten, promueven y llevan a cabo esta iniciativa.
En España, ha sido la empresa Affinitty, compañía líder en alimentación para perros y gatos, ubicada en Barcelona; quienes también se han sumado a esta iniciativa. Pero tampoco es la única. Si nos ponemos a indagar un poco encontramos webs que promueven y publicitan a aquellas empresas que son partícipes de esta iniciativa.
Pero, ¿cuáles son los beneficios de llevar a nuestro perro con nosotros a nuestro lugar de trabajo?
Algunos de estos beneficios son:
- Mejora del clima laboral
- Disminución de la ansiedad y el estrés
- Fomento de la creatividad
- Mejora de la salud física, dado que ayuda a regular la tensión arterial al acariciarlos.
- Aumento de la productividad laboral
- Aumento del grado de satisfacción laboral
- Mejora de las habilidades sociales y comunicativas
- Mejora en la expresión y regulación de las emociones
- Aumento en la liberación de oxitocina, llamada la hormona del amor o de la unión; y que ayuda a reducir la producción excesiva de las hormonas del estrés, cortisol e insulina.
Aquellas empresas que dan la bienvenida a los perros a sus instalaciones deben seguir una serie de recomendaciones:
- Diseñar zonas libres de animales, para dar también cabida a aquellas personas que no comparten dentro de la empresa esta iniciativa, y así no se sientan ni ofendidos ni molestos.
- Ser cuidadosos con la higiene de nuestro amigos perrunos
- Asegurarse de que el perro está a gusto y disfruta de su estancia en la oficina. Algunos animales pueden no sentirse cómodos en estas situaciones.
- Llevar juguetes u otros objetos para que los perros puedan estar entretenidos.
- Y por supuesto, los dueños deben comprometerse a sacarlos a pasear.
