LA CONFESIÓN
«La confesión fortalece el alma, pues una confesión realmente bien hecha -la confesión de un hijo que reconoce su pecado y retorna al Padre- produce siempre humildad y la humildad es fuerza.
«Ustedes pongan en primer lugar la confesión y sólo después pidan una dirección espiritual, cuando lo crean necesario».

LA ALEGRÍA

«Nuestra alegría es el mejor modo de predicar el cristianismo. Al ver la felicidad en nuestros ojos, tomarán conciencia de su condición de hijos de Dios. Pero para eso debemos estar convencidos de eso».

«La alegría del Señor es nuestra fuerza. Todos nosotros, si tenemos a Jesús dentro nuestro, debemos llevar la alegría como novedad al mundo».

SERVICIO A LOS DEMÁS
«María debe ser la fuente de nuestra alegría; ella, que fue la maestra en el servicio gozoso a los demás. La alegría era su fuerza, ya que sólo la alegría de saber que tenía a Jesús en su seno podía hacerla ir a las montañas para hacer el trabajo de una sierva en casa de su prima Isabel».
«De la misma manera nosotros, con Jesús en nuestro corazón, debemos servir a los demás con alegría».
«Si no se vive para los demás, la vida carece de sentido».
«¿Qué descuido podremos tener en el amor? tal vez en nuestra propia familia haya alguien que se sienta solo, alguien que este viviendo una pesadilla, alguien que se muerde de angustia, y estos son indudablemente momentos bien difíciles para cualquiera».

AMAR LO QUE UNO HACE

LA VOCACIÓN
«Tu vocación consiste en pertenecer a Jesús. Tu servicio a los leprosos es sólo tu forma concreta de expresar tu amor a Jesús. Por ello, no interesa demasiado determinar a quiénes dedicas tu labor, a condición de que la realices por El, de que lo hagas con El. Esta es, en realidad, la forma de cumplir tu vocación, tu penitencia a Cristo».
«Nuestra vocación consiste en pertenecer a Jesús».
«Jesús nos ha elegido para Sí; le pertenecemos. Tenemos que estar, pues, tan convencidos de dicha presencia, que no permitamos que nada, ni lo más insignificante, nos aparte de su posesión... de su amor».
LA POBREZA
«Los pobres son la esperanza del mundo porque nos proporcionan la ocasión de amar a Dios a través de ellos. Son el don de Dios a la humanidad, para que nos enseñen una manera diferente de amarlo, buscando siempre la manera de dignificarlos y rescatarlos».
«Ellos son el signo de la presencia de Dios entre nosotros, ya que en cada uno de ellos es Cristo quien se hace presente».
«Por eso, Él no nos preguntará cuántas cosas hicimos, sino cuánto amor pusimos en ellas».
«Seamos los servidores del pobre. Hemos de brindar al pobre un servicio generoso, sincero. En el mundo, a la gente se le paga por su trabajo. Sintámonos pagados por Dios».
«¿Acaso tratan ustedes a los pobres como basurero, dándoles aquello que ya no pueden ustedes usar o comer? Como esto no puedo ya comérmelo, se lo voy a dar al pobre».
LA HUMILDAD
«La grandeza de María proviene justamente de su humildad. Y era humilde porque pertenecía a Dios por completo, estaba en disponibilidad para lo que Él quisiera pedirle».
«Ella, que estaba colmada de gracias, siguió siendo la esclava del Señor. Se mantuvo con firmeza junto a la cruz de su Hijo, y ni siquiera viéndolo morir dejó de confiar en Dios».
«Pidámosle a la Virgen que nos ayude a ser como ella, a realizar con humildad y sin vanagloria el trabajo que se nos ha asignado, y que llevemos a los demás a Jesús con el mismo espíritu con que ella lo llevó en su seno».
«Hay que cuidarse del orgullo, porque el orgullo envilece cualquier cosa».
«Dios no va a preguntarle a aquella hermana cuántos libros ha leído, cuántos milagros ha realizado; lo que le preguntará es si ha hecho de lo suyo lo mejor por amor del mismo Dios».
«"Hice lo mío de la mejor forma". Aunque aquello que he podido hacer, no sea más que un fracaso, eso deberá ser lo mejor que hemos podido y sabido hacer; debe tener nuestro máximo empeño».
«Ningún fracaso las desanimará, mientras tengan clara conciencia de haber hecho aquello que estaba a su alcance. Hablando humanamente, si una hermana tuviera un fracaso en su tarea, procuremos atribuirlo a cualquier factor de debilidad humana, que no fue inteligente, o no supo hacer mejor las cosas, etc. A pesar de todo, a los ojos de Dios no ha fallado si ha hecho todo lo que era capaz de hacer. Y ella debiera sentirse, pese a todo, colaboradora suya».
«Nunca debemos creernos indispensables Dios tiene sus caminos y sus maneras... El puede permitir que todo marche al revés aun en manos de la hermana más bien dotada. Dios no mira más que su amor. Bien ustedes pueden trabajar hasta el agotamiento, incluso matarse trabajando, pero si su trabajo no está tejido por el amor resulta inútil. ¡Dios no tiene ninguna necesidad de sus obras!
«Si todo lo he recibido, ¿qué mérito nos cabe? Si estamos bien convencidos de esto, nunca alzaremos altaneramente la cabeza».
LA CONFIANZA EN DIOS
«Debes entonces decirle: " Señor, soy tuyo. Puedes hacer conmigo lo que quieras". Esta es, hermano, nuestra fuerza y ésta es la alegría del Señor».
«El abandono total en Dios consiste en darse a Dios en forma plena, porque Él se dio a nosotros primero. Y debemos entregarnos de manera absoluta si queremos responder a la magnitud de su entrega hacia nosotros. Sólo si renuncio a mí misma puedo llevar a Dios a vivir en mí».
«Cuando renuncio ofrezco mi libre voluntad, mi razón, mi propia vida. Y todo por amor, ya que cuanto más renunciamos a nosotros mismos, más podemos amar a Dios y a los hombres».
LA SANTIDAD
«La santidad es hacer siempre, con alegría, la voluntad de Dios. Para eso es necesaria la fidelidad a sus deseos, y es esta fidelidad la que hace a los santos».
«A través de la vida espiritual nos unimos con Jesús: lo humano y lo divino se ofrecen uno al otro».
«El primer paso hacia la santidad es querer serlo. ¿Qué es un santo sino un alma resuelta, que hace uso de su fortaleza para actuar?
«Ser santo no significa realizar cosas extraordinarias, descifrar misterios, sino únicamente un aceptar incondicional, dado que me he entregado por completo a Dios, porque le pertenezco por entero».
«Entréguense eternamente a Jesús... y Él se servirá de ustedes para hacer grandes cosas, a fin de que crean mucho más en su amor que en su debilidad. Crean en Él... confíen en Él con una fe ciega y absoluta, seguros de que Él es el Señor. Convénzanse de que únicamente Jesús es el secreto de la vida y que la santidad no es otra cosa que el propio Jesús que vive en su interior por su gracia».
«Ustedes deben permitir que el Padre sea un jardinero, que corta y poda. Si sienten que son podados no se preocupen. Él tiene sus motivos para hacerlo. Ustedes deben dejar que lo haga».
«Si con toda conciencia y diligencia aspiramos a la santidad, después de nuestra oración ha de penetrarnos un sentimiento de autorrenuncia. La forma más elemental de renuncia del propio yo es el control de nuestros sentidos».

EL SUFRIMIENTO
«Cuando recibimos aunque sólo sea una pequeña observación poco caritativa, o cuando nos sentimos víctimas de una falta de consideración, con qué facilidad nos olvidamos de que ¡éste es justamente el momento de compartir con Él la ofensa y el sufrimiento!
«Recuerden que la Pasión de Cristo desemboca siempre en la alegría de la Resurrección, para que cuando sientan en su corazón los sufrimientos de Cristo, tengan bien presente que luego llegará la resurrección».
«Nuestros sufrimientos son caricias bondadosas de Dios, llamándonos para que nos volvamos a Él, y para hacernos reconocer que no somos nosotros los que controlamos nuestras vidas, sino que es Dios quien tiene el control, y podemos confiar plenamente en Él».
AMAR A DIOS
«Nunca digas adiós, si todavía quieres tratar. Nunca te des por vencido si sientes que puedes seguir luchando. Nunca le digas a una persona que ya no la amas, si no puedes dejarla ir. El amor llega a aquel que espera, aunque lo hallan decepcionado; a aquel que aun cree, aunque haya sido traicionado: a aquel que todavía necesite amar, aunque antes haya sido lastimado y aquel que tiene coraje y la fe para construir la confianza de nuevo».
«Hemos de amar a Dios, haciéndonos cargo de las ofensas que le hemos provocado».
«A lo largo del día, repitamos con frecuencia: "Lávame, Señor, de mis pecados y límpiame de toda iniquidad"».
«Tienen que ejercitarse en el sufrimiento, porque cuando fijen su mirada en la cruz, verán que Él tiene inclinada la cabeza, porque quiere besarlos y tiene lo brazos abiertos porque quiere abarcarlos en un fuerte abrazo».
«¿Lo han comprendido, hermanos? Sufrimiento, dolor, humillación, son besos de Jesús. Acérquense tanto a Jesús en su Cruz, que Él pueda besarlos».
PRESENCIA DE DIOS
«Si día tras día nos consagramos eternamente al cumplimiento perfecto de nuestros deberes espirituales, Él nos hará entrar gradualmente en una intimidad más profunda, en la que, incluso fuera del tiempo de oración, no tendremos dificultad alguna en mantener un lúcida conciencia de su Presencia Divina».
«El propósito de un retiro no es otro que el empeño de progresar en la conciencia y el amor de Dios, de purificar nuestra propia persona, de enmendar y transformar nuestra vida en conformidad con la vida de nuestro modelo, Jesucristo».
LA VIRGEN MARÍA
«La grandeza de María reside en su humildad. Jesús, quien vivió en estrechísimo contacto con ella, parecía querer que nosotros aprendiéramos de Él y de ella una lección solamente: ser mansos y humildes de corazón».
«Supliquemos a María que haga nuestro corazón "manso y humilde" como modeló el corazón de su Hijo. Pues por medio de ella y en ella fue como se forjó el corazón de Jesús».
LA VIRGEN MARÍA, CAMINO DE RECONCILIACIÓN
« María está siempre atenta para traer al mundo la alegría, la paz y la reconciliación. Ella nos conduce hacia Dios, y con sus ruegos amorosos intercede por nosotros».
«Elevemos hacia ella nuestros corazones para que nos ayude a reconciliarnos, cada vez que nos alejemos del amor de Dios».
«Dirijamos a ella nuestros ojos para implorarle por la paz; a ella, que sólo tiene cabida en su corazón para la paz y el perdón».
LA FAMILIA

EL SUFRIMIENTO Y LA FELICIDAD

LA VIDA

«El aborto mata la paz del mundo...Es el peor enemigo de la paz, porque si una madre es capaz de destruir a su propio hijo, ¿qué me impide matarte? ¿Qué te impide matarme? Ya no queda ningún impedimento».
«A todos los jóvenes les digo: Ustedes son el futuro de la vida familiar; son el futuro de la alegría de amar. Mantengan la pureza, mantengan ese corazón, ese amor, virgen y puro, para que el día en que se casen puedan entregarse el uno al otro, algo realmente bello: la alegría de un amor puro».

LA EUCARISTÍA
«Cristo se convirtió en el Pan de Vida porque comprendió la necesidad, el hambre que teníamos de Dios. Y nosotros debemos comer este Pan y la bondad de su amor para poder compartirlo».
«La eucaristía es el signo más tangible del amor de Dios por el hombre, ya que renueva permanentemente su sacrificio por amor a nosotros. Y es la Misa, nuestra oración diaria, el lugar donde nos ofrecemos con y por Cristo para ser distribuidos entre los más pobres de los pobres».

LA ESPERANZA
«Lo único que Jesús nos pide en todo momento es que nos entreguemos absolutamente a Él, que confiemos en Él plenamente, renunciando a nuestros deseos para cumplir con el camino que nos va trazando».
«No es necesario que veamos claro si vamos progresando o no en el camino de la santidad. Lo importante es ir caminando en el Señor».
«El camino a la santidad comienza dejándonos vaciar y transformar por el mismo Jesús, para que Él llene nuestro corazón y podamos luego dar de nuestra abundancia».

LA SOLIDARIDAD
«Cada obra de amor, llevada a cabo con todo el corazón, siempre logrará acercar a la gente a Dios».
«Dios siempre cuida de sus criaturas, pero lo hace a través de los hombres. Si alguna persona muere de hambre o pena, no es que Dios no la haya cuidado; es porque nosotros no hicimos nada para ayudarla, no fuimos instrumentos de su amor, no supimos reconocer a Cristo bajo la apariencia de ese hombre desamparado, de ese niño abandonado».
«No cierren las puertas a los pobres; porque los pobres, los apestados, los caídos en la vida, son como el mismo Jesús».
SER FIELES EN LAS COSAS PEQUEÑAS
«Seamos fieles en las cosas pequeñas, porque ahí estará nuestra fortaleza. Miremos el ejemplo de la lámpara que arde con el aporte de pequeñas gotitas de aceite, y sin embargo da mucha luz. Las gotitas de aceite de nuestras lámparas son las cosas pequeñas que realizamos diariamente: la fidelidad, la puntualidad, las palabras bondadosas, las sonrisas, nuestra actitud amorosa hacia los demás».

CONOCERSE A SÍ MISMO
«Nuestro examen de conciencia es el espejo en el que vemos nuestros logros y nuestras dificultades. Por eso debemos afrontarlo con sinceridad y amor. No perdamos el tiempo mirando nuestras propias miserias; elevémonos en la luz de Dios y busquemos la manera de hacer las cosas cada vez mejor».
«Conocerse a sí mismo es muy importante para el amor, porque conocer a Dios trae el amor, y conocernos a nosotros mismos, la humildad. Por eso los santos pueden decir que se sienten grandes criminales, porque vieron a Dios y se vieron a sí mismos, y notaron la terrible diferencia».

LA POBREZA DE ESPÍRITU
«Dios no puede derramar algo donde ya está todo lleno de otras cosas. Jesús lo dijo: "No se puede servir a dos señores", refiriéndose a Dios y al dinero».
«La pobreza, el desprendimiento de todo lo que nos ata y nos aleja de Dios, sea o no material, nos deja "vacíos", para que Dios puede entrar plenamente en nuestro corazón».
«Las cosas deben ser siempre un medio, nunca un fin en sí mismas».
