La aplicación del Internet de las cosas en el sector agrícola permitirá gestionar y comunicar todos los objetos de nuestra explotación bajo un mismo sistema
nternet de las cosas (IoT) es un concepto que se aplicará cada vez con más fuerza a todo y será determinante en el sector agrícola.
A continuación vemos la evolución que ha sufrido el sector agrícola y cómo la agricultura convencional se ha transformado en agricultura inteligente (Smart Farm), donde la aplicación de nuevas tecnologías será determinante, especialmente el Internet de las cosas.

A día de hoy ya es posible gestionar tu explotación agrícola usando tecnología basada en el Internet de las cosas y gracias a su aplicación, en el futuro en el mercado aparecerán aplicativas nuevas que harán del sector agrícola un sector inteligente.
La explotación agrícola es un sector donde la tecnología esta siempre en pleno desarrollo. Así podemos ver que las técnicas de tipos de invernaderos industriales, de regadío… han evolucionado enormemente, así como la utilización de medios mecánicos y sistemas de fertilización cada vez mas evolucionados en dicha explotación.
Pero ahora, gracias a Internet de las cosas en el sector agrícola, será posible gestionar todo bajo un mismo sistema en el que integremos tecnología y comunicación a todos los objetos que existan en nuestra explotación agrícola.
De esta manera haremos inteligente a cada objeto mediante la incorporación de una LP que lo convierta en un punto de emisión de información (gracias a la incorporación de sensores) y que a su vez, permita que este se ponga en contacto con el resto de objetos que existan en la explotación agrícola (todos ellos unidos en red). Así se establecerá una comunicación entre ellos con un sistema de gestión centralizado, haciendo posible aglutinarlos a todos ellos en una red inteligente, definiendo protocolos y marcando como fin acciones a ejecutar según los protocolos establecidos, siendo todo ello en tiempo real.

Internet de las cosas en el sector agrícola hará muchísimo más eficiente el uso de recursos para la explotación, usando las materias primas o recursos naturales estrictamente necesarios, evitando el malgasto.
Cuanto más inteligente sea nuestra explotación agrícola, más eficiente será y menos recursos malgastaremos.
De igual manera, los sistemas inteligentes en la agricultura (Smart farm) determinarán y analizarán el historial de explotación, así como los factores asociados a la producción de cada recurso en tiempo real. Este sistema nos permitirá cuantificar, en función de las acciones que se han tomado, los recursos desperdiciados en cada momento, evolución de las cosechas… siendo en este caso Internet de las cosas un sistema por el cual industrializamos al máximo exponente nuestra explotación agrícola, donde cada objeto se comunica con el resto para conseguir dicha optimización.
Esta red de objetos será una red inteligente que integrará de igual manera un sinfín de weareables que llevará incorporados el propio agricultor para que pueda desempeñar su trabajo de una manera más efectiva y eficiente, haciendo posible que el Internet de las cosas le ayude en todo momento, y sobre todo en tiempo real, en la toma de decisiones referentes al desarrollo de su actividad.
Gestionar nuestra explotación agrícola será muy fácil ya que podremos hacerlo mediante una tablet, móvil, etc. Incluso podremos utilizar la voz como interface para interactuar con el sistema de gestión mediante, por ejemplo, el uso de weareables.

Para definir algunos de los objetos que podrían formar parte de nuestra futura explotación agrícola inteligente (algunos de ellos ya existen), hablamos, por ejemplo, de drones con cámaras integradas y multitud de sensores de todo tipo instalados a lo largo de nuestra explotación que nos permitirían controlar la humedad, temperatura o gestionar los recursos naturales como gasto de agua, luz, etc. También habría que hablar de wearables que pudieran darle información al agricultor todo tipo de métricas para analizar en tiempo real la acción a desempeñar.
Internet de las cosas se integrará en el sector agrícola con infinidad de soluciones tecnológicas reconvirtiéndolo de manera significativa.
El mercado a dia de hoy ya utiliza en parte estos conceptos gracias a la tecnología y la aplicación del Internet de las cosas para que podamos tener, por ejemplo, huertos de ciudad en nuestra propia casa y podamos gestionarlo desde nuestro movil o tablet, disponiendo de soluciones como estas:
